Our Community
The Carters
In 2020, the Carters moved to Evening Shade, Arkansas with the hope of building something special. Five years later, Demario and Ana are involved in several key projects. First and foremost is the launching of a private elementary school that is focused on practical education and life skills. They are looking to start the Evening Shade Outpost Academy in the Fall of 2026.
Demario also owns and operates Evening Shade Construction. With this business he hopes to not only build up the Outpost but to also provide an opportunity to teach and mentor young men.
The Dooleys
The Dooleys purchased land from the Carter's and moved to Evening Shade in 2021. Since that time they have worked with the Carter's on several ministry projects. Currently, they are working on the Precious Promises Scripture Song Devotional and other publishing materials through their publishing company Little Branches Publishing. Matt is also working with Demario to launch a ministry apprenticeship, where we will be training practical skills for life and ministry. This includes personal ministry, literature ministry and media production.
The Artiagas
The Artiagas moved to Evening Shade in 2024. John Rey is a carpenter by trade and his skills have been a major asset in building up the Evening Shade Construction work in our area. When Malinda is not chasing around the little ones you will find her cooking, taking photographs, or posting encouraging messages online.
The Sherbondys
Delbert moved to Evening Shade in 2021 to break ground on building a new home next to the Carters and Dooleys. Christina would make the move in 2023. Both Delbert and Christina have been a vital part of helping to establish and operate the Evening Shade Lifestyle Retreat.
The Speidels
The Speidels moved to Evening Shade in 2024 amidst the fury of activity of the Evening Shade Lifestyle Retreat. Shawn is passionate about farming nutrient dense food and he and Chelsea are currently in the process of establishing Lesson Book Farm in Evening Shade. Chelsea has a passion for cooking and will be working with the Evening Shade Lifestyle Retreat preparing meals for the guest.
